[Machine] Al-Shafi'i said, "It is narrated from the Hadith of some people, similar to what I mentioned, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted them to eat in the lands of the enemy without taking anything from the food. If this is proven to be from the Prophet ﷺ , then there is no argument against it. However, if it is not proven because there are unknown individuals among the narrators, then the same applies to those from whom it is narrated that it is permissible, and the sheikh seemed to intend the first narration of al-Waqidi and intended the second one that we mentioned afterwards."
قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ يُرْوَى مِنْ حَدِيثِ بَعْضِ النَّاسِ مِثْلُ مَا قُلْتُ مِنْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَذِنَ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا فِي بِلَادِ الْعَدُوِّ وَلَا يَخْرُجُوا بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ فَإِنْ كَانَ مِثْلُ هَذَا ثَبَتَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَا حُجَّةَ لِأَحَدٍ مَعَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَا يَثْبُتُ لِأَنَّ فِي رِجَالِهِ مَنْ يُجْهَلُ فَكَذَلِكَ فِي رِجَالِ مَنْ رُوِيَ عَنْهُ إِحْلَالُهُ مَنْ يُجْهَلُ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَكَأَنَّهُ أَرَادَ بِالْأَوَّلِ حَدِيثَ الْوَاقِدِيِّ وَأَرَادَ بِالثَّانِي مَا ذَكَرْنَا بَعْدَهُ
