Al-Qasim, the client of AbdurRahman, quoted one of the Companion of the Prophet ﷺ as saying: We would eat a camel on an expedition without dividing it, and when we returned to our dwellings our saddle-bags would be full with its flesh. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2706)
عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ الْجُزُرَ فِي الْغَزْو وَلَا نَقْسِمُهُ حَتَّى إِنْ كُنَّا لَنَرْجِعُ إِلَى رِحَالِنَا وَأَخْرِجَتُنَا مِنْهُ مُمْلَأَةٌ
