bayhaqi:1730Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū Zakariyyā al-ʿAnbarī > Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Salām > Isḥāq > Jarīr > al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm And ʿUmārah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Yazīd

[Machine] Abdullah, by whom there is no god but Him, this is the appointed time for this prayer. Then he said, "Establish the prayer from the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night." [Al-Isra 78]. So, this is the decline of the sun.  

البيهقي:١٧٣٠وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ أنا إِسْحَاقُ أنا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعُمَارَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ وَنَحْنُ نَرَى أَنَّ الشَّمْسَ طَالِعَةٌ قَالَ فَنَظَرْنَا يَوْمًا إِلَى ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ مَا تَنْظُرُونَ؟ قَالُوا إِلَى الشَّمْسِ قَالَ

عَبْدُ اللهِ هَذَا وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ مِيقَاتُ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَى غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ} [الإسراء 78] فَهَذَا دُلُوكُ الشَّمْسِ

[Machine] Abdullah used to pray the Maghrib prayer while we saw that the sun was still high. So, one day we looked at it, and he asked, "What are you looking at?" We said, "We are looking at the sun." Abdullah said, "By the One besides whom there is no deity, this is the time for this prayer." Then he recited the verse, "Establish prayer at the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night." So, this is the decline of the sun.

[Machine] Abdullah prayed Maghrib (sunset prayer), and when he finished, we began looking around. He asked, "Why are you looking around?" We said, "We see that the sun is still rising." He said, "By Allah, this is the time of this prayer." Then he recited, "Establish prayer from the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night." So, this is the decline of the sun, and this is the darkness of the night.  

الطبراني:٩١٣١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ

صَلَّى عَبْدُ اللهِ الْمَغْرِبَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ جَعَلْنَا نَلْتَفِتُ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكُمْ تَلْتَفِتُونَ؟» قُلْنَا نَرَى أَنَّ الشَّمْسَ طَالِعَةٌ فَقَالَ هَذَا وَاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ مِيقَاتُ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَى غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ} فَهَذَا دُلُوكُ الشَّمْسِ وَهَذَا غَسَقُ اللَّيْلِ

[Machine] Abdullah prayed one day and a man looked to see if the sun had set. Abdullah said, "What are you looking at? By Allah, there is no deity except Him, the time for this prayer is when Allah says, 'Establish the prayer from the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night.'" So this is the decline of the sun, and this is the darkness of the night.
