[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ was sent (as a Prophet), I came to him and he said, "O Jarir, why have you come?" I said, "I have come to pledge allegiance to you, O Messenger of Allah." He then threw his cloak over me, turned towards his companions and said, "If a noble person from a tribe comes to you, honor him." And he mentioned the Hadith which contains the phrase, "And he never saw me after that except that he would smile in my face." And there is a witness for this Hadith from the narration of Ash-Sha'bi from the Prophet ﷺ, (who transmitted it).

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ was sent, I came to him to pledge my allegiance. He asked me, "Why have you come, O Jarir?" I said, "I have come to embrace Islam under your guidance." He then invited me to bear witness that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish the obligatory prayers, pay the prescribed Zakat, believe in predestination, both the good and the bad. Then he threw his cloak over me and turned to his companions, saying, "When a noble person comes to you, honor him." This wording is according to the Hadith of Al-Hadhrami.
