[Machine] He (referring to someone) said: The value of that during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was four thousand dirhams of Uqiyya per camel. Then Umar adjusted it during his caliphate when the price of camels increased to six thousand and a half dirhams of Uqiyya per camel. Then Umar adjusted it again when the price of camels increased to eight thousand dirhams per camel. Then Umar adjusted it again when the price of camels increased to twelve thousand dirhams per camel. Ibn Shihab said: Umar ibn Al-Khattab adjusted the blood money for gold to one thousand dinars and the rulers after Umar affirmed it, using gold and silver for the people of the towns and the people of the desert. They would apply a hundred from camels. Ash-Shafi'i said: The blood money is only adjusted with dinars and dirhams, and it cannot be adjusted with anything else. The Sheikh said: It is narrated from Umar that it is possible that he adjusted it with something other than dinars and dirhams, out of the generosity of the wrongdoer and the guardian of the body. البيهقي:١٦١٧٤أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ
