[Machine] If it were not for the fact that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over the top of the feet, I would think that the bottom or the inside of them is more appropriate for that. And likewise.  

البيهقي:١٣٩٠ – فِيمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ شَوْذَبٍ الْمُقْرِئُ بِوَاسِطٍ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ ثُمَّ قَالَ

لَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْقَدْمَيْنِ لَرَأَيْتُ أَنَّ أَسْفَلَهُمَا أَوْ بَاطِنَهُمَا أَحَقُّ بِذَلِكَ وَكَذَلِكَ  

رَوَاهُ أَبُو السَّوْدَاءِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعَبْدُ خَيْرٍ لَمْ يَحْتَجَّ بِهِ صَاحِبَا الصَّحِيحِ فَهَذَا وَمَا رُوِيَ فِي مَعْنَاهُ إِنَّمَا أُرِيدَ بِهِ قَدَمَا الْخُفِّ بِدَلِيلِ مَا مَضَى وَبِدَلِيلِ مَا رُوِّينَا عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ فِي وَصْفِهِ وُضُوءَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا
