[Machine] He heard Sa'id bin Al-Musayyib saying that a slave of Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , became bankrupt and there was a dispute about him that was brought to Uthman. Uthman decided that whoever had a right due to him before his bankruptcy became apparent, then it belongs to him, and whoever knew his possession, then it belongs to him.
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يَقُولُ أَفْلَسَ مَوْلًى لِأُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَاخْتُصِمَ فِيهِ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ ؓ فَقَضَى عُثْمَانُ أَنَّ مَنْ كَانَ اقْتَضَى مِنْ حَقِّهِ شَيْئًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَبَيَّنَ إِفْلَاسُهُ فَهُوَ لَهُ وَمَنْ عَرَفَ مَتَاعَهُ فَهُوَ لَهُ
