[Machine] Ibn Abbas: A man gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a container of wine as a gift. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Did you not know that Allah has forbidden it?" The man replied, "No." Then, the man left and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What do you think he did with it?" Someone said, "I commanded him to sell it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who has forbidden its consumption has also forbidden its sale." Then, the two containers were opened, and what was inside them was poured out, amounting to 11043. Abu Abdullah Al-Hafith, Abu Zakariya, and Abu Abdur Rahman reported to us, saying: Abu Al-Abbas informed us that Muhammad informed him that Ibn Wahb informed him that Suleiman ibn Bilal informed him from Yahya ibn Sa'id from Abdul Rahman ibn 'Ula from Ibn Abbas from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a similar narration.  

البيهقي:١١٠٤٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ السَّبَائِيِّ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَمَّا يُعْصَرُ مِنَ الْعِنَبِ فَقَالَ

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّ رَجُلًا أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَاوِيَةَ خَمْرٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَلْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَهَا؟ فَقَالَ لَا فَسَارَّ إِنْسَانًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَ سَارَرْتَهُ؟ قَالَ أَمَرْتُهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَهَا قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي حَرَّمَ شُرْبَهَا حَرَّمَ بَيْعَهَا قَالَ فَفَتَحَ الْمَزَادَتَيْنِ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ مَا فِيهَا 11043 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أنبأ مُحَمَّدٌ أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ

A person presented to Messenger of Allah ﷺ a small water-skin of wine. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Do you know that Allah has forbidden it? He said: No. He then whispered to another man. Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him what he had whispered. He said: I advised him to sell that, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Verily He Who has forbidden its drinking has forbidden its sale also. He (the narrator) said: He opened the waterskin until what was contained in it was spilt.  

مسلم:١٥٧٩a – حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ أَنَّهُ جَاءَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ السَّبَإِيِّ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَمَّا يُعْصَرُ مِنْ الْعِنَبِ فَقَالَ

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّ رَجُلًا أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَاوِيَةَ خَمْرٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هَلْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَهَا قَالَ لَا فَسَارَّ إِنْسَانًا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِمَ سَارَرْتَهُ فَقَالَ أَمَرْتُهُ بِبَيْعِهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي حَرَّمَ شُرْبَهَا حَرَّمَ بَيْعَهَا قَالَ فَفَتَحَ الْمَزَادَةَ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ مَا فِيهَا  

malik:42-17 – Yaḥyá > Mālik > Zayd b. Aslam > Ibn And ʿLah al-Miṣrī > Saʾal ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās ʿAmmā Yuʿṣar Min al-ʿInab

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam that Ibn Wala al-Misri asked Abdullah ibn Abbas about what is squeezed from the grapes. Ibn Abbas replied, "A man gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a small water-skin of wine. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'Don't you know that Allah has made it haram?' He said, 'No.' Then a man at his side whispered to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked what he had whispered, and the man replied, 'I told him to sell it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The One who made drinking it haram has made selling it haram.' The man then opened the water- skins and poured out what was in them ."  

مالك:٤٢-١٧ – حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنِ ابْنِ وَعْلَةَ الْمِصْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَمَّا يُعْصَرُ مِنَ الْعِنَبِ
