[Machine] A caravan arrived, so the Prophet ﷺ purchased some goods from it and made a profit from gold. He then gave it as charity to the orphans of Abdul-Muttalib and said, "I will not buy something that I do not have the price for." And so it was.

البيهقي:١٠٩٦٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ ح قَالَ وَأنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَا ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَدِمَتْ عِيرٌ فَابْتَاعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْهَا بَيْعًا فَرَبِحَ أَوَاقٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا بَيْنَ يَتَامَى عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَالَ لَا أَشْتَرِي مَا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ وَكَذَلِكَ

رَوَاهُ وَكِيعٌ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ وَرَوَاهُ قُتَيْبَةُ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ رَفَعَهُ

[Machine] A camel arrived, so the Prophet ﷺ bought it and made a profit by selling its gold adornments. Then he gave it in charity to the sons of Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib and said, "I do not buy something that I do not have the price for." Al-Bukhari relied on the narration of 'Ikrimah and Muslim relied on the narrations of Simak and Shareek, and they both said, "The hadith is authentic and they did not exclude it." Authentic.

الحاكم:٢٢٠٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَدِمَتْ عِيرٌ فَابْتَاعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْهَا بَيْعًا فَرَبِحَ أَوَاقٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَبْنَاءِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَالَ «لَا أَشْتَرِي مَا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ» قَدِ احْتَجَّ الْبُخَارِيُّ بِعِكْرِمَةَ وَاحْتَجَّ مُسْلِمٌ بِسِمَاكٍ وَشَرِيكٍ «وَالْحَدِيثُ صَحِيحٌ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح
