We used to be given mixed dates (from the booty) and used to sell (barter) two Sas of those dates) for one Sa (of good dates). The Prophet ﷺ said (to us), "No (bartering of) two Sas for one Sa nor two Dirhams for one Dirham is permissible", (as that is a kind of usury). (See Hadith No. 405). البيهقي:١٠٥٤٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَقِيهُ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى الْقَاضِي ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا نُرْزَقُ تَمْرَ الْجَمْعِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ الْخِلْطُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ فَكُنَّا نَبِيعُ الصَّاعَيْنِ بِالصَّاعِ فَقَالَ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَا وَلَا الدِّرْهَمَ بِالدِّرْهَمَيْنِ

muslim:1595 – Isḥāq b. Manṣūr > ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá > Shaybān > Yaḥyá > Abū Salamah > Abū Saʿīd

We were given to eat, during the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ, dates of different qualities mixed together, and we used to sell two sa's of these for one sa, (of fine quality of dates). This reached Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whereupon he said: There should be no exchange of two sa's of (inferior) dates for one sa (of fine dates) and two sa's of (inferior) wheat for one sa' of (fine) wheat. and one dirham for two dirharms.  

مسلم:١٥٩٥ – حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ شَيْبَانَ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا نُرْزَقُ تَمْرَ الْجَمْعِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ الْخِلْطُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ فَكُنَّا نَبِيعُ صَاعَيْنِ بِصَاعٍ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لاَ صَاعَىْ تَمْرٍ بِصَاعٍ وَلاَ صَاعَىْ حِنْطَةٍ بِصَاعٍ وَلاَ دِرْهَمَ بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ  

nasai:4555 – Ismāʿīl b. Masʿūd > Khālid > Hishām > Yaḥyá b. Abū Kathīr > Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī

وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ تَمْرٌ مِنْ تَمْرِ الْجَمْعِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَبِيعُ الصَّاعَيْنِ بِالصَّاعِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَا صَاعَيْ تَمْرٍ بِصَاعٍ وَلَا صَاعَيْ حِنْطَةٍ بِصَاعٍ وَلَا دِرْهَمَيْنِ بِدِرْهَمٍ
