I saw Abu Huraira performing prostration (while reciting this verse: )" When the heaven burst asunder." I said to him: Do you prostrate yourself (while reciting) i? He said: Yes, I saw my best Friend ﷺ prostrating himself on (the recital of this verse) and I shall continue prostrating till I meet him. Shu'ba asked: Do you mean (by Friend) the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes.  

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَسْجُدُ فِي { إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ} فَقُلْتُ تَسْجُدُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ رَأَيْتُ خَلِيلِي ﷺ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا فَلاَ أَزَالُ أَسْجُدُ فِيهَا حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ قُلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] I saw Abu Huraira prostrating when the sky split, so I said, "You are prostrating in a surah in which we do not prostrate." He said, "Indeed, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating in it."  

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ سَجَدَ فِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ فَقُلْتُ سَجَدْتَ فِي سُورَةٍ مَا نَسْجَدُ فِيهَا قَالَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا  

[Machine] "I saw Abu Hurairah prostrate during the occurrence of the splitting of the sky. So, I asked him and he replied, 'I prostrated in it (the sky) to my beloved, ﷺ , and I will continue to prostrate until I meet him.'"  

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ سَجَدَ فِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ قَالَفَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ سَجَدَ فِيهَا خَلِيلِي ﷺ وَلَا أَزَالُ أَسْجُدُ حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ  

[Machine] I saw Abu Huraira prostrating when the sky split open. I asked, "Do you prostrate in it?" He replied, "I saw my beloved (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) prostrating in it, so I continue to prostrate in it until I meet him."  

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَسْجُدُ فِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ قَالَ قُلْتُ تَسْجُدُ فِيهَا؟ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ خَلِيلِي ﷺ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا فَلَا أَزَالُ أَسْجُدُ فِيهَا حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ  

I offered the night prayer behind Abu Hurairah. He recited Surah Inshiqaq ("When the sky is rent asunder") and prostrated himself. I asked him: What is this prostration ? He replied: I prostrated myself on account of this (surah) behind Abu al-Qasim (i.e. the Prophet). I shall continue prostrating on account of this till I meet him. صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ صَلَاةَ الْعَتَمَةِ أَوْ قَالَ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَرَأَ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ سَجَدْتُ فِيهَا خَلْفَ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ فَلَا أَزَالُ أَسْجُدُهَا حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ  

[Machine] I saw Abu Huraira prostrating when the sky split, and he was asked, "You prostrate in a chapter (surah) where prostration is not done?" He replied, "Indeed, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating in it."  

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَسْجُدُ فِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ تَسْجُدُ فِي سُورَةٍ مَا يُسْجَدُ فِيهَا؟ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا»
