[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The true needy person is not the one who goes around asking for a morsel or two, but rather the truly needy person is the one who has self-restraint."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَّافِ عَلَيْكُمْ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ اللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ وَلَكِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ الْمُتَعَفِّفُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The poor person is not the one who goes around begging people for a date or two, or a morsel of food. Rather, the true poor person is the one who is self-restrained, who does not ask people for anything, and whose poverty is not noticed by others so that they may give charity to him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَّافِ وَلَا بِالَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ التَّمْرَةُ وَلَا التَّمْرَتَانِ وَلَا اللُّقْمَةُ وَلَا اللُّقْمَتَانِ وَلَكِنِ الْمِسْكِينُ الْمُتَعَفِّفُ الَّذِي لَا يَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُفْطَنُ لَهُ فَيُتَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِ
from the Prophet ﷺ who said, “The needy is not the one who wanders around you that you feed him morsel upon morsel, but the needy is the one who has no means of support and who does not ask others for help.”
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَّافِ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تُطْعِمُوهُ لُقْمَةً لُقْمَةً إِنَّمَا الْمِسْكِينُ الْمُتَعَفِّفُ الَّذِي لَا يَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا
"لَيسَ المسكين بِالطَّوَّافِ، ولا بِالَّذِى تَرُدّهُ التمْرةُ ولا التَّمْرَتَانِ وَلَا اللُّقْمَةُ ولا اللُّقْمَتَانِ، ولَكِن الْمِسْكينَ المتَعَفِفُ الَّذِي لَا يَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ شَيئًا، ولا يُفْطَنُ لَه فَيُتصَدَّقَ عليه".
