ahmad:6974 – ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿAmr > Qurrah > al-Ḥasan > And al-Lh Laqad Zaʿamūā

[Machine] That Abdullah bin Amr testified to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ saying, "If someone drinks alcohol, flog him. If he drinks again, flog him. If he drinks again, flog him. And when it reaches the fourth time, kill him." Abdullah bin Amr would then say, "Bring me a man who has been flogged four times for drinking alcohol, for then I have the right to kill him."  

أحمد:٦٩٧٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ زَعَمُوا

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو شَهِدَ بِهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ قَالَ فَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو يَقُولُ ائْتُونِي بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ جُلِدَ فِي الْخَمْرِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنَّ لَكُمْ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever drinks wine, flog him, then if he drinks again, flog him, then if he drinks again, flog him, then if he drinks it for the fourth time, kill him.'
