[Machine] Two men from the east came to visit the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and they stood up and spoke, then sat down. Then Thabit ibn Qays, the preacher of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, stood up and spoke, then sat down. The people were amazed by their words. The Prophet ﷺ stood up and said, "O people, speak with your own words, for separating the words is from Satan." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, there is magic in eloquence."  

أحمد:٥٦٨٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَدِمَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ خَطِيبَانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَامَا فَتَكَلَّمَا ثُمَّ قَعَدَا وَقَامَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ خَطِيبُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَتَكَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ كَلَامِهِمْ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا بِقَوْلِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا تَشْقِيقُ الْكَلَامِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ تَشْقِيقِ الْكَلَامِ فِي الْأَلْفَاظِ، إِذَا قُصِدَ بِهِ غَيْرُ الدِّينِ

[Machine] I heard Ibn Umar say, "Two men from the east stood up to give a speech, and then they sat down. Then Thabit bin Qays, the orator of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , stood up and spoke. They were amazed by his speech. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and delivered a sermon. He said, 'O people, speak what you have to say, for the division of speech is from Satan. Indeed, clarity in speech is a kind of magic.'"  

ابن حبّان:٥٧١٨أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَامَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ خَطِيبَيْنِ فَتَكَلَّمَا ثُمَّ قَعَدَا فَقَامَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ خَطِيبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَتَكَلَّمَ فَعَجِبُوا مِنْ كَلَامِهِ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَخَطَبَ فَقَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا بِقَوْلِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا تَشْقِيقُ الْكَلَامِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا»
