It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet ﷺ used to wear (his ring) with the stone nearest his palm. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3645)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّ خَاتَمِهِ مِمَّا يَلِي بَطْنَ كَفِّهِ
