The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. “The likeness of the one who goes back his charity is that of one who goes back to his vomit.”

أحمد:٣٨٤ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَعُودُ فِي صَدَقَتِهِ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ

He who gets back his charity is like a dog which vomits, and then returns to that and eats it.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَرْجِعُ فِي صَدَقَتِهِ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ يَقِيءُ ثُمَّ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ فَيَأْكُلُهُ

nasai:3693 – Maḥmūd b. Khālid > ʿUmar > al-Awzāʿī > Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Ḥusayn > Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās
