ahmad:3591 – Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm > ʿAlqamah > ʿAbdullāh > Qaraʾ Sūrah Yūsuf Biḥimṣ

[Machine] A man said, "This was not revealed like this," so Abdullah approached him and found the smell of alcohol on him. Abdullah said, "Do you deny the truth and drink impurities? I will not leave you until I punish you severely." He then struck him and said, "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it to me like this."  

أحمد:٣٥٩١ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ بِحِمْصَ فَقَالَ

رَجُلٌ مَا هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ فَدَنَا مِنْهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَوَجَدَ مِنْهُ رِيحَ الْخَمْرِ فَقَالَ أَتُكَذِّبُ بِالْحَقِّ وَتَشْرَبُ الرِّجْسَ؟ لَا أَدَعُكَ حَتَّى أَجْلِدَكَ حَدًّا قَالَ فَضَرَبَهُ الْحَدَّ وَقَالَ وَاللهِ لَهَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

[Machine] "A man from the people said, 'Has it really been revealed like this?' So Abdullah said, 'Woe to you! I have indeed recited it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said to me, "You have done well."' While he was talking, he smelled the odor of alcohol from him. So Abdullah said, 'Do you drink alcohol and deny the Quran? I will not stand until you are lashed with the punishment.'"  

الطبراني:٩٧١٢ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ بِالشَّامِ فَقَالُوا لَهُ اقْرَأْ عَلَيْنَا فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ فَقَالَ

رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ مَا هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَيْحَكَ لَقَدْ قَرَأْتُهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي «أَحْسَنْتَ» فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ يُرَاجِعُهُ وَجَدَ مِنْهُ رِيحَ خَمْرٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ أَتَشْرَبُ الرِّجْسَ وَتُكَذِّبُ بِالْقُرْآنِ لَا أَقُومُ حَتَّى تُجْلَدَ الْحَدَّ

[Machine] A man had said, "The revelations did not come down like this." So, I approached him and sensed the smell of alcohol from him. I said, "Are you denying the truth while consuming impure substances? By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it to me exactly like this. I will not leave you until I strike you with a punishment." So, he was struck by the punishment.  

الطبراني:٩٧١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَرَأْتُ بِحِمْصَ فَقَالَ
