ahmad:3180 – Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Abū al-ʿĀliyah al-Rayāḥī > Ibn ʿAm Nabiyyikum ﷺ > Mā Yanbaghī Liʿabd

[Machine] Narrated by the cousin of your Prophet ﷺ , he said: It is not proper for a servant to say that he is better than Yunus ibn Matta, attributing his lineage to his father. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned this when he was taken on the Night Journey, and he said: "Musa (Moses) is tall, as if he belonged to the men of Shanu'a, and 'Isa (Jesus) has curly hair, and he mentioned Malik as the custodian of Hell, and he mentioned the Dajjal (Antichrist)."  

أحمد:٣١٨٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ الرَّيَاحِيَّ قَالَ

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ قَالَ مَا يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ أَنَا خَيْرٌمِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى وَنَسَبَهُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ وَذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ فَقَالَ مُوسَى آدَمُ طُوَالٌ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ وَقَالَ عِيسَى جَعْدٌ مَرْبُوعٌ وَذَكَرَ مَالِكًا خَازِنَ جَهَنَّمَ وَذَكَرَ الدَّجَّالَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "One should not say that I am better than Jonah (i.e. Yunus) bin Matta." So, he mentioned his father Matta. The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the night of his Ascension and said, "The prophet Moses was brown, a tall person as if from the people of the tribe of Shanu'a. Jesus was a curly-haired man of moderate height." He also mentioned Malik, the gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire, and Ad-Dajjal.  

البخاري:٣٣٩٥ – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while narrating his night journey observed: Musa (peace be upon him) was a man of high stature as if he was of the people of the Shanu'a (tribe), and Jesus was a well-built person having curly hair. He also mentioned Malik, the guardian of Hell, and Dajjal.  

مسلم:١٦٥a – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ يَقُولُ

حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ فَقَالَ مُوسَى آدَمُ طُوَالٌ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ وَقَالَ عِيسَى جَعْدٌ مَرْبُوعٌ وَذَكَرَ مَالِكًا خَازِنَ جَهَنَّمَ وَذَكَرَ الدَّجَّالَ  

ahmad:3179 – Ḥajjāj > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Abū al-ʿĀliyah > Ibn ʿAm Nabiyyikum ﷺ

[Machine] Ibn 'Amr, the cousin of your prophet ﷺ , narrated: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah said: It is not appropriate for a servant to claim superiority over Yunus bin Matta and his lineage to his father." He also mentioned that he know he was taken up (on a journey) and that he saw Musa, ﷺ , extensively as if he was from the men of the Shaniyyah tribe. He also mentioned that he saw Isa bent (leaning) towards the reddish and white shades and that he saw the Dajjal and Maalik, the keeper of Hellfire.  

أحمد:٣١٧٩ – حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ

حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ مَا يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى وَنَسَبَهُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ قَالَ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ وَأَنَّهُ رَأَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ آدَمَ طُوَالًا كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى عِيسَى مَرْبُوعًا إِلَى الْحُمْرَةِ وَالْبَيَاضِ جَعْدًا وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى الدَّجَّالَ وَمَالِكًا خَازِنَ النَّارِ
