[Machine] Abdullah ibn Abbas attended a gathering of Jewish individuals with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. They said, "O Abu Al-Qasim, tell us about a certain matter that only a prophet knows." They asked him which type of food the Israelites forbade upon themselves before the revelation of the Torah. He responded, "I swear by Allah, who revealed the Torah to Moses, that you may not know. Israel, whom Jacobﷺ has taken as a prophet, fell severely ill and his illness lingered. He vowed to Allah that if He would heal him from his illness, he would forbid upon himself the most beloved drink and the most beloved food to him. Thus, the most beloved food to him became the meat of camels and the most beloved drink to him became their milk." They replied, "O Allah, indeed!"
