[Machine] I found a hundred dinars and went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Recognize it for a year." So I recognized it for a year. Then I went to him and said, "I have recognized it for a year." He said, "Recognize it for another year." So I recognized it for another year. Then I went to him for the third time and he said, "Count them and enjoy them."  

أحمد:٢١١٦٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ

الْتَقَطْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِائَةَ دِينَارٍ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ عَرِّفْهَا سَنَةً فَعَرَّفْتُهَا سَنَةً ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ قَدْ عَرَّفْتُهَا سَنَةً قَالَ عَرِّفْهَا سَنَةً أُخْرَى فَعَرَّفْتُهَا سَنَةً أُخْرَى ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ فَقَالَ أَحْصِ عَدَدَهَاووِكَاءَهَا وَاسْتَمْتِعْ بِهَا

[Machine] "You have done well, you have done well. I found a hundred gold coins from the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I brought them to him. He said, 'Identify them.' So I described them in detail. Then I went to him again and he said, 'Identify them.' So I described them again in detail. This happened a few more times until he said, 'Know their number, container, and cover. If someone comes and informs you of their number, container, and cover, then give it to them. Otherwise, enjoy it.'"  

ابن حبّان:٤٨٩٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سُوَيْدُ بْنُ غَفَلَةَ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ فَالْتَقَطْتُ سَوْطًا بِالْعُذَيْبِ فَقَالَا دَعْهُ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَدَعُهُ تَأْكُلُهُ السِّبَاعُ فَقَدِمْتُ إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِالْحَدِيثِ فَقَالَ

أَحْسَنْتَ أَحْسَنْتَ الْتَقَطْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِائَةَ دِينَارٍ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا فَقَالَ «عَرِّفْهَا» فَعَرَّفْتُهَا حَوْلًا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَقَالَ «عَرِّفْهَا» فَعَرَّفْتُهَا حَوْلًا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَقَالَ «عَرِّفْهَا» فَعَرَّفْتُهَا حَوْلًا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَقَالَ «اعْلَمْ عَدَدَهَا وَوِعَاءَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ يُخْبِرُكَ بِعَدَدِهَا وَوِعَائِهَا وَوِكَائِهَا فَأَعْطِهِ إِيَّاهَا وَإِلَّا فَاسْتَمْتِعْ بِهَا»
