Recognizing the Prophet ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage

[AI] His father had seen the Prophet ﷺ and was riding behind his father during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He said, "I said, 'Father, show me the Prophet ﷺ.' He said, 'Stand and hold the middle of the saddle.' So I stood and held the middle of the saddle. Then he said, 'Look at the man on the red camel who is gesturing with his hand; in his hand is a rod.'"

أحمد:١٨٧٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا رَافِعُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ يَعْنِي الْأَشْجَعِيَّ وَسَالِمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ نُبَيْطٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، وَكَانَ رِدْفًا خَلْفَ أَبِيهِ فِي حَجَّةِالْوَدَاعِ. قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبةْ، أَرِنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ. قَالَ: قُمْ فَخُذْ بِوَاسِطَةِ الرَّحْلِ. قَالَ: فَقُمْتُ فَأَخَذْتُ بِوَاسِطَةِ الرَّحْلِ. فَقَالَ: انْظُرْ إِلَى صَاحِبِ الْجَمَلِ الْأَحْمَرِ الَّذِي يُومِئُ بِيَدِهِ، فِي يَدِهِ الْقَضِيبُ.
