[Machine] "He was pricked by a thorn, and then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to heal him. He said, 'What a terrible dead person I would be if it happened twice to me and the Jews would say, why did he not protect his companion? I have no power to harm or benefit myself, and indeed I will become completely helpless. So he commanded, and it was heated in two lines above his head, and he died."  

أحمد:١٧٢٣٨حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ بْنَ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَسْعَدَ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ وَكَانَ أَحَدَ النُّقَبَاءِ يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ

أَنَّهُ أَخَذَتْهُ الشَّوْكَةُ فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَعُودُهُ فَقَالَ بِئْسَ الْمَيِّتُ لَيَهُودُ مَرَّتَيْنِ سَيَقُولُونَ لَوْلَا دَفَعَ عَنْ صَاحِبِهِ؟ وَلَا أَمْلِكُ لَهُ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَأَ تَمَحَّلَنَّ لَهُ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ وَكُوِيَ بِخَطَّيْنِ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ فَمَاتَ

"بئْسَ الميِّتُ لِيَهُودَ سَيَقُولُون: لولا دَفَعَ عَنْ صَاحِبهِ وَلَا أَمْلِكُ لَهُ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا، وَلأتَمَحَّلَنَّ له".  

[حم] أحمد والبغوى، والباوردى، [طب] الطبرانى في الكبير [ك] الحاكم في المستدرك عن أبي أُمامة، عن سهل بن حنيف (أَن النبي ﷺ كوى أَسعد بن زرارة على عنقه من وجع يقال له الشوكة فمات فقالت اليهود أَفلا نفعه؟ فقال ذلك)
