[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ once visited a group of people and each of us had a nickname or two. So when he called someone by his nickname, we said, "O Messenger of Allah, this nickname is disliked by this person." He said, "Do not use nicknames that hurt or insult each other."  

أحمد:١٦٦٤٢حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بنُ غِيَاثٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي جَبِيرَةَ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ

عَنْ عُمُومَةٍ لَهُ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا إِلَّا لَهُ لَقَبٌ أَوْ لَقَبَانِ قَالَ فَكَانَ إِذَا دَعَا بِلَقَبِهِ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ هَذَا يَكْرَهُ هَذَا قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came to a gathering where each one of us had a nickname or two. When he called a person by their nickname, we would say, "O Messenger of Allah, this nickname bothers this person." He replied, "And you have descended {And do not insult one another by nicknames}" [Al-Hujurat: 11].
