My father sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ. (When permission was granted and he came near him) he lifted his shirt, and began to kiss him and embrace him (out of love for him). He asked: Messenger of Allah, what is the thing which it is unlawful to refuse? He replied: Water. He again asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing which it is unlawful to refuse? He replied: Salt. He again asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing which it is unlawful to refuse? He said: To do good is better for you.  

قَالَتِ اسْتَأْذَنَ أَبِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَدَخَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَمِيصِهِ فَجَعَلَ يُقَبِّلُ وَيَلْتَزِمُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الشَّىْءُ الَّذِي لاَ يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ قَالَ الْمَاءُ قَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مَا الشَّىْءُ الَّذِي لاَ يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ قَالَ الْمِلْحُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الشَّىْءُ الَّذِي لاَ يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ قَالَ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ  

On the authority of her father: My father asked the Prophet ﷺ for permission (to kiss his body). (When he was given permission), lifting his shirt he approached his body, and began to kiss and stick to him. He then asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing withholding of which is not lawful ? He replied: Water. He asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing withholding of which is not lawful ? He replied: Salt. He again asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing withholding of which is not lawful ? He said: That you do a good work is better for you.

اسْتَأْذَنْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَدَخَلْتُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَمِيصِهِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ الْمَاءُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ الْمَلحُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ  

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he came to the Prophet ﷺ and sought permission from him, so he entered between him and his shirt and Uthman held it. He asked, "What is the thing that its prohibition is not permissible?" He (the Prophet) said, "Salt and water." He (Uthman) asked, "What is the thing that its prohibition is not permissible?" He (the Prophet) said, "If you do good, it is good for you." He (Uthman) asked, "What is the thing that its prohibition is not permissible?" He (the Prophet) said, "If you do good, it is good for you." And he repeated it until he reached salt and water. Abdullah was asked, "Do you believe in it?" So he nodded with his head.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَاسْتَأْذَنَهُ فَدَخَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَمِيصِهِ وَقَدْ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ فَالْتَزَمَهُ فَقَالَ مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ فَقَالَ «الْمِلْحُ وَالْمَاءُ» قَالَ مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ «إِنْ تَفْعَلِ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ» قَالَ مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ «إِنْ تَفْعَلِ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ» وَانْتَهَى إِلَى الْمِلْحِ وَالْمَاءِ قِيلَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ تَقُولُ بِهِ؟ فَأَوْمَأَ بِرَأْسِهِ  

[Machine] She said, "I asked the Prophet ﷺ for permission to enter between him and his garment, so he granted me permission. I entered from behind him and started holding on to him and wiping my chest against his back. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is it that can't be prevented?' He said, 'Water.' He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is it that can't be prevented?' He said, 'Salt.' He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is it that can't be prevented?' He said, 'If you do good, it will be good for you, and if you abstain, it will be better for you.'" The woman said, "So that man was never prevented from using water, even though it was less."  

قَالَتِ اسْتَأْذَنَ أَبِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَمِيصِهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ فَدَخَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَمِيصِهِ مِنْ خَلْفَهِ فَجَعَلَ يَلْتَزِمُهُ وَيَمْسَحُ صَدْرَهُ بِظَهْرِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ الْمَاءُ قَالَ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ الْمِلْحُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ؟ قَالَ «إِنْ تَفْعَلِ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ وَانْتَهَى» قَوْلُهُ إِلَى الْمَاءِ وَالْمِلْحِ قَالَتْ فَكَانَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ لَا يَمْنَعُ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْمَاءِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ  

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ , then I entered between him and his garment and held onto it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the thing that it is not permissible to prevent?" He said, "Water." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the thing that it is not permissible to prevent?" He said, "Salt." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the thing that it is not permissible to prevent?" He said, "If you do good, it will be good for you."
