ahmad:14328Naṣr b. Bāb > Ḥajjāj > Abū al-Zubayr > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh al-Anṣārī

[Machine] He said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said to me, "O Jabir, if wealth had come to us, I would have urged you to take, and then urged you to take." He said: "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away before completing that period for me (i.e., before he could give me the wealth). So I went to Abu Bakr and told him, and Abu Bakr said: 'If anything had come to us, I would have urged you to take, and then urged you to take, and then urged you to take.' He said: 'Then wealth came to him and he urged me to take, urging me repeatedly.' Then he said: 'There is no Sadaqah (charitable donation) on it until a year has passed.' He said: 'So I weighed it and it was one thousand five hundred (Dirhams).'"
