It would be said to the non-believers on the Day of Resurrection: If you were to possess gold, filling the whole earth, would you like to secure your freedom by paying that? He would say: Yes. Thereupon it would be said to him: Something easier (than this) was demanded from you (but you paid no heed to it). (Using translation from Muslim 2805c)

Allah's Prophet used to say, "A disbeliever will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will be asked. "Suppose you had as much gold as to fill the earth, would you offer it to ransom yourself?" He will reply, "Yes." Then it will be said to him, "You were asked for something easier than that (to join none in worship with Allah (i.e. to accept Islam, but you refused).

ahmad:13288Rawḥ > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik > Nabī Allāh ﷺ > Yujāʾ Bi-al-Kāfir Yawm al-Qiyāmah

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , said: "The disbeliever will be brought on the Day of Judgment and it will be said to him, 'Imagine if you had the entire earth full of gold, would you give it as ransom?' He will reply, 'Yes, O Lord.' It will then be said to him, 'You have been asked for something easier than that.' This is the meaning of the verse: 'Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the ransom of their souls be accepted [even] if they offered a whole earth filled with gold.' [Surah Al-Imran 3:91]."
