[Machine] We followed the works, and we did not find a more effective work in seeking the hereafter than asceticism in this worldly life.  

الزهد لأحمد:٩٥٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا بَيَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْوَاسِطِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ

تَابَعْنَا الْأَعْمَالَ فَلَمْ نَجِدْ عَمَلًا أَبْلَغَ فِي طَلَبِ الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الزَّهَادَةِ فِي الدُّنْيَا
