ahmad-zuhd:868ʿAbdullāh from my father > ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ > ʿAdī b. ʿAdī

[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said, "Woe to those who do not seek knowledge, even if Allah wanted to teach them. And woe to those who have knowledge but do not act upon it, sevenfold."  

الزهد لأحمد:٨٦٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَيْلٌ لِمَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَعَلَّمَهُ وَوَيْلٌ لِمَنْ يَعْلَمُ وَلَا يَعْمَلُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ
