ahmad-zuhd:451ʿAbdullāh > Bī > Ḥajjāj > Jarīr b. Ḥāzim > Wahb > Balaghanī

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah, Moses ﷺ , passed by a man who was supplicating and beseeching. Moses said, "O Lord, have mercy on him." So, Allah revealed to him, "If he had supplicated to Me until his strength was exhausted, I would not have answered him until I looked into my rights upon him."  

الزهد لأحمد:٤٥١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ وَهْبٍ قَالَ بَلَغَنِي

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَدْعُو وَيَتَضَرَّعُ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ لَوْ دَعَانِي حَتَّى تَنْقَطِعَ قُوَاهُ مَا اسْتَجَبْتُ لَهُ؛ حَتَّى يَنْظُرَ فِي حَقِّي عَلَيْهِ
