كَانَ التَّيْمِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ يَقُولُ «فِقْهُ الْحَسَنِ وَعِلْمُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ وَوَرَعُ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ وَعِبَادَةُ طَلْقِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ»
