الزهد لأحمد:١٣٠٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ قَدِمَ الْأَحْنَفُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ مِنْ سَفَرٍ وَقَدْ غَيَّرُوا سَقْفَ بَيْتِهِ أَوْ قَدْ حَمَّرُوا السَّقَائِفَ وَخَضَّرُوهَا فَقَالُوا لَهُ مَا تَرَى إِلَى سَقْفِ بَيْتِكَ؟ قَالَ

«مَعْذِرَةً إِلَيْكُمْ إِنِّي لَمْ أَرَهُ لَا أَدْخُلُهُ حَتَّى تُغَيِّرُوهُ»
