ahmad-zuhd:1148ʿAbdullāh from my father > Sayyār b. Ḥātim > Jaʿfar > 169 al-Muʿallá b. Ziyād

[Machine] Jazwan said to Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, "May Allah not see me laughing until I know which of the two homes is mine?" Al-Hasan said, "So he was determined and did so, but he was not seen laughing until he met with Allah."  

الزهد لأحمد:١١٤٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا [169] الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ زِيَادٍ قَالَ

قَالَ غَزْوَانُ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَلَّا يَرَانِي اللَّهُ ضَاحِكًا حَتَّى أَعْلَمَ أَيَّ الدَّارَيْنِ دَارِي؟ قَالَ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ فَعَزَمَ فَفَعَلَ فَمَا رُئِيَ ضَاحِكًا حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللَّهِ ﷻ
