ahmad-zuhd:11 – Abū Saʿīd a freed slave of Banī Hāshim > Thābit > Hilāl / Ibn Khabbāb > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

he said:

"God's Messenger ﷺ died and he didn't leave any [gold] dinars nor [silver] dirhams. Nor any slaves nor newborns. He [only] left his shield as collateral with a Jew for thirty Sa' of food"  

الزهد لأحمد:١١ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِلَالٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَبَّابٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«وَمَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَا تَرَكَ دِينَارًا وَلَا دِرْهَمًا وَلَا عَبْدًا وَلَا وَلِيدَةً وَتَرَكَ دِرْعَهُ رَهْنًا عِنْدَ يَهُودِيٍّ بِثَلَاثِينَ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ»
