أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ التَّفْلُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهُ أَنْ تُوَارِيَهُ

I asked Qatada about spitting, in the mosque. He said: I heard Anas b. Malik say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is that it should be buried.

مسلم:٥٥٢b – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ التَّفْلِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ التَّفْلُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: Sleeping in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it.

أحمد:١٢٠٦٢ – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

[Machine] That the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , used to say that spitting in the mosque is a sin and its atonement is burying it.

أحمد:١٤٠٧٥ – حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ التُّفَالُ فِيالْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهُ دَفْنُهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it." (Using translation from Bukhārī 415)

أحمد:١٣٤٣٣ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ وَشُعْبَةَ جَمِيعًا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِخَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

ahmad:13450 – ʿAbd al-Wahhāb > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Urinating in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is burying it."

أحمد:١٣٤٥٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ النُّخَاعَةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌوَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَتَنَخَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَدْفِنَ نُخَامَتَهُ

ibnhibban:1635 – al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > Qutaybah b. Saʿīd And ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Ghiyāth > Abū ʿAwānah > Qatādah > Anas

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Spitting in the mosque is a sin and it is expiated by burying the spittle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 475)

ابن حبّان:١٦٣٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «النُّخَامَةُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا»

ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ كَفَّارَةِ الْخَطِيئَةِ الَّتِي تُكْتَبُ لِمَنْ بَصَقَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ
