During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we used to consider ma'un (this of daily use) lending a bucket and cooking-pot.  

أبو داود:١٦٥٧ – حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا نَعُدُّ الْمَاعُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَارِيَةَ الدَّلْوِ وَالْقِدْرِ

الطبراني:٩٠١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ ابْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

«كُلُّ مَعْرُوفٍ صَدَقَةٌ وَكُنَّا نَعُدُّ الْمَاعُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَارِيَةَ الدَّلْوِ وَالْقِدْرِ وَأَشْبَاهَ ذَلِكَ»  

tabarani:9014 – ʿAbdān b. Aḥmad > Hishām b. ʿAmmār > al-Walīd b. Muslim > Shaybān > Manṣūr > Abū Wāʾil > ʿAbdullāh
