that the Prophet ﷺ said: "A man among the inhabitants of Paradise will appear before you." So Abu Bakr appeared. Then he said: "A man among the inhabitants of Paradise will appear before you." So 'Umar appeared.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَطْلُعُ عَلَيْكُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَاطَّلَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَطْلُعُ عَلَيْكُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَاطَّلَعَ عُمَرُ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى وَجَابِرٍ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

"عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ قَالَ: يَطلعُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ هَذَا الفَجِّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَأطلَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَطلعُ عَلَيْكُم مِنْ هَذَا الفَجِّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَاطلَعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الخطَابِ".
