tirmidhi:3004Abū al-Sāʾib

from his father: "On the Day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah! Curse Abu Sufyan! O Allah! Curse Al-Harith bin Hisham! O Allah! Curse Safwan bin Umayyah!' He said: 'So the following was revealed: Not for you is the decision; whether He turns in mercy towards them [or punishes them] (3:128).' So Allah turned in mercy towards them, they accepted Islam and their (adherence to) Islam was good."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "O Allah, curse so-and-so! O Allah, curse Harith ibn Hisham! O Allah, curse Suhail ibn Amr! O Allah, curse Safwan ibn Umayyah!" Then this verse was revealed: "It is not for you [O Muhammad], but for Allah, to decide a matter. Whether He should cut them down or forgive them or punish them - indeed, they are wrongdoers." [Quran 3:128] He said, "Then forgive them all."
