That he heard Tawus narrating from Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas, and they both narrated this Hadith from the Prophet ﷺ. (A Hadith similar to no. 1298).
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَرْفَعَانِ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ

“It is not permissible for a man to give a gift then take it back, except what a father gives to his child.”
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ يَرْفَعَانِ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يُعْطِيَ الْعَطِيَّةَ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعَ فِيهَا إِلاَّ الْوَالِدَ فِيمَا يُعْطِي وَلَدَهُ
[AI] Narrated by Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas that they reported a Hadith to the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "It is not permissible for a man to give a gift."
