[Machine] Two men were disputing about a verse, and as we were thus, Abdullah entered from the direction of his two sisters. So they both stood up to him, and I stood up with them, and they said, "We have been disputing about a verse." So Abdullah said to one of them, "Read it." So he recited it, and Abdullah said, "Who taught you this?" He replied, "Amr bin Ma'qil." Then Abdullah said to the other, "Read it." So he recited it, and Abdullah said, "Who taught you this?" He replied, "Umar." Then his eyes welled up with tears until I saw the trace of his tears on his cheeks, and he wiped away the tears with his hand, saying, "Like this." Then I saw two marks on the pebbles from Abdullah's tears. Then Abdullah said, "I do not think there is a household among the Muslims that was not visited by sorrow on the day Umar was killed, except for an evil household. Indeed, Umar was the most knowledgeable among us about Allah, and the most proficient among us in the recitation of the Book of Allah, and the most knowledgeable among us in the religion of Allah. And recite it as I recited it, for by Allah, it is more illuminated than the path of the travelers."
