[Machine] "You are more devoted to prayer and display more willingness to strive than the companions of Muhammad ﷺ , even though they were better than you." They asked, "Why is that, O Abu Abdul Rahman?" He replied, "Because they were more detached from worldly desires and more eager for the hereafter."

الطبراني:٨٧٦٨ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

«أَنْتُمْ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاةً وَأَكْثَرُ جِهَادًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَهُمْ كَانُوا خَيْرًا مِنْكُمْ» قَالُوا بِمَ ذَاكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا أَزْهَدَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَأَرْغَبَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ»

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ «أَنْتُمْ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاةً وَأَكْثَرُ صِيَامًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَهُمْ كَانُوا خَيْرًا مِنْكُمْ» قَالُوا وَبِمَ؟ قَالَ «كَانُوا أَزْهَدَ مِنْكُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَأَرْغَبَ مِنْكُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ»

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
