[Machine] The wise scholar said, "Half of knowledge has gone today." So it was asked, "How is that, O Abu Al-Mu'tamir?" He replied, "The man used to be from the people of desires, so when he disagreed with us in a narration from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we would say to him, 'Come to the one who heard it from him.'"  

الطبراني:٧١٩حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ خَالِدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ لَمَّا مَاتَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

مُوَرِّقٌ الْعِجْلِيُّ «ذَهَبَ الْيَوْمَ نِصْفُ الْعِلْمِ» فَقِيلَ وَكَيْفَ ذَاكَ يَا أَبَا الْمُعْتَمِرِ؟ فَقَالَ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَهْوَاءِ إِذَا خَالَفَنَا فِي الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْنَا لَهُ تَعَالَ إِلَى مَنْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ
