مَا أَسْنَدَ سَعْدُ بْنُ الْأَطْوَلِ

tabarani:5467 – ʿAbdān b. Aḥmad > Wāṣil b. ʿAbdullāh b. Badr b. Aṣl b. ʿAbdullāh b. Saʿd b. al-Aṭwal > Abū ʿAbdullāh b. Badr

[Machine] I heard my father say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised me against boasting. Therefore, whoever settles in a land that requires payment, they are indeed boasting. And I dislike to settle (in such a land).  

الطبراني:٥٤٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَدْرِ بْنِ أَصْلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَدْرٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ بِتُسْتَرَ فَيَزُورُهُمْ فَيُقِيمُ يَوْمَ دُخُولِهِ وَالثَّانِي وَيَخْرُجُ فِي الثَّالِثِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ لَوْ أَقَمْتَ فَيَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الثَّنَاوَةِ فَمَنْ أَقَامَ بِبِلَادِ الْخَرَاجِ فَقَدْ ثنا وَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُقِيمَ
