[Machine] When Saad bin Muadh died, Abu Bakr and Umar cried. Abu Bakr's crying was recognized by Umar crying, and Umar's crying was recognized by Abu Bakr crying. So I asked Aisha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ cry?" She said, "No, but he used to hold onto his beard."  

الطبراني:٥٣٣٠حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا مَاتَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ بَكَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَبَكَى عُمَرُ ؓ حَتَّى عُرِفَ بُكَاءُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ مِنْ بُكَاءِ عُمَرَ وَبُكَاءُ عُمَرَ مِنْ بُكَاءِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَبْكِي؟ قَالَتْ «لَا لَكِنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْبِضُ عَلَى لِحْيَتِهِ ﷺ»
