[Machine] Muawiyah asked him, "O Hawzah, did you witness the Battle of Badr?" He replied, "Yes, O Amir al-Mu'minin. By Allah, that was not for me." Muawiyah asked, "So how was it for you?" He answered, "That day I was (as tall as) two arms' lengths, with hair like the tails of sheep. It was as if I was looking at them and they had formed a long line in front of us. It was as if I was looking at the brightness of their swords, shining like rays of the sun through the clouds. I did not fully wake up until the ordinary people lost consciousness. Ali ibn Abi Talib was among the first, charging like a furious lion and saying, 'You will not eat dates in Makkah's stomach! You will not eat dates in Makkah's stomach!' Hamzah ibn Abdul Muttalib followed him, with a white feather on his chest that I was aware of. It was as if he was a camel breaking hardened ground. I turned away from both of them and they went towards Hanthalah, Muawiyah's brother. Muawiyah said to him, 'Have you not had enough, and have you not refrained from disbelief in Allah?' Hawzah replied, 'By Allah, O Amir al-Mu'minin, I have not had enough until I looked at the hills of Arthad and said, 'I wish Hanthalah had not done what he did.' Muawiyah said, 'With your mention of Hanthalah, it is as if you are mentioning someone similar to the mention of the rich man by the poor. For he is hardly mentioned without a lisp or reclination.'"
