[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was in Qudayd when a man came to him and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Did you feed anything for the day of Ashura?" He replied, "No, except that I drank water." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then do not eat anything until the sun sets, and command those behind you to fast on this day."  

الطبراني:١٨٠٠١حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِقُدَيْدٍ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَطَعِمْتَ الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا لِيَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ؟» فَقَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنِّي شَرِبْتُ مَاءً قَالَ «فَلَا تَطْعَمْ شَيْئًا حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ وأْمُرَنَّ مَنْ وَرَاءَكَ أَنْ يَصُومُوا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ»
