جُنْدُبُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ وَقَدِ اخْتُلِفَ فِي صُحْبَتِهِ

[Machine] That a magician used to play with Al-Walid ibn Uqbah, and he would take the sword and slaughter himself and do such things, and it would not harm him. So Jundub stood up and took the sword and struck his own neck. Then he recited, "So do you bring the magic while you see [it]?"  

الطبراني:١٧٢٥حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ

أَنَّ سَاحِرًا كَانَ يَلْعَبُ عِنْدَ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ فَكَانَ يَأْخُذُ السَّيْفَ وَيَذْبَحُ نَفْسَهُ وَيَعْمَلُ كَذَا وَلَا يَضُرُّهُ «فَقَامَ جُنْدُبٌ إِلَى السَّيْفِ فَأَخَذَهُ فَضَرَبَ عُنُقَهُ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ}
