[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "How excellent are the people of Azd and Ash'ariyyun." Mu'awiya said, "He did not say that. He only said, 'They are from me and I am from them.'"  

الطبراني:١٦٨٢٠ – حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّشِيطِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْعَتَكِيُّ قَالَا ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَلَاذٍ عَنْ نُمَيْرِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَسْرُوحٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «نِعْمَ الْحَيُّ الْأَزْدُ وَالْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ» فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَيْسَ هَكَذَا قَالَ إِنَّمَا قَالَ «هُمْ مِنِّي وَإِلَيَّ»
