[Machine] When 'Abdul Rahman ibn Muljam struck 'Ali and he was carried to his house, Al-'Awad came to him and praised and thanked Allah and sent blessings upon the Prophet, then he said, "Every man faces what he cannot escape in his flight, and death is the appointed time for the soul. They cannot escape its harm. How I have searched for the days to find their secret, and Allah will not allow it to be revealed. Knowledge is hidden treasure. As for my advice to you, do not associate anything with Allah and do not waste the Sunnah of Muhammad. Establish these two pillars and protect yourselves from what has not affected you. Carry the effort of every person, and lighten the burden for the ignorant with a merciful Lord, a sound religion, and a knowledgeable Imam. We were in a breeze and the scent of branches, under the shade of a cloud whose center was dispersed, carried by the wind that brings you close, passing days in succession, then it departed. You will surely follow it with a lifeless body after a silence following movement. It is an admonishment for those who reflect, from the eloquence of articulate speech. Your caller is a watcher, waiting for the gathering tomorrow, when you will witness my days and my secrets will be revealed to you. Allah will not love me except if I humble myself with piety, so He may forgive my faults. Peace be upon you until the Day of Reckoning. If I remain, I am the guardian of my blood, and if I perish, annihilation is my destiny. Forgiveness is closeness for me, and a reward for you, so forgive. May Allah forgive us and you. 'Do you not wish that Allah would forgive you, and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.'" Then he said,  

لَمَّا ضَرَبَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُلْجَمٍ عَلِيًّا ؓ وَحُمِلَ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ أَتَاهُ الْعُوَّادُ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ ﷻ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ وَصَلَّى عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مُلَاقٍ مَا يَفِرُّ مِنْهُ فِي فِرَارِهِ وَالْأَجَلُ مُسَاقُ النَّفْسِ وَالْهَرَبُ مِنْ آفَاتِهِ كَمْ أَطْرَدْتُ الْأَيَّامَ أَبْحَثُهَا عَنْ مَكْنُونِ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ وَأَبَى الله ﷻ إِلَّا إِخْفَاءَهُ هَيْهَاتَ عِلْمٌ مَخْزُونٌ أَمَّا وَصِيَّتِي إِيَّاكُمْ فَاللهَ ﷻ لَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَمُحَمَّدًا ﷺ لَا تَضُيِّعُوا سُنَّتَهُ أَقِيمُوا هَذَيْنِ الْعَمُودَيْنِ وَخَلَاكُمْ ذَمُّ مَا لَمْ يُشَرَّدُوا وَأُحْمِلَ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مَجْهُودَهُ وَخُفِّفَ عَنِ الْجَهَلَةِ بِرَبٍّ رَحِيمٍ وَدِينٍ قَوِيمٍ وَإِمَامٍ عَلِيمٍ كُنَّا فِي رِيَاحٍ وَذَرِيِّ أَغْصَانٍ وَتَحْتَ ظِلِّ غَمَامَةٍ اضْمَحَلَّ مَرْكَزُهَا فَيَحُطُّهَا عَانٍ جَاوَرَكُمْ تُدْنِي أَيَّامًا تِبَاعًا ثُمَّ هَوًى فَسَتُعْقَبُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ جُثَّةً خَوَاءً سَاكِنَةً بَعْدَ حَرَكَةٍ كَاظِمَةً بَعْدَ نُطُوقٍ إِنَّهُ أَوْعَظُ لِلْمُعْتَبِرِينَ مِنْ نُطْقِ الْبَلِيغِ وَدَاعِيكُمْ دَاعِي مُرْصَدٍ لِلتَّلَاقِ غَدًا تَرَوْنَ أَيَّامِي وَيُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَرَائِرِي لَنْ يُحَابِيَنِي اللهُ ﷻ إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَزَلَّفَهُ بِتَقْوًى فَيَغْفِرَ عَنْ فَرَطٍ مَوْعُودٍ عَلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامُ إِلَى يَوْمِ اللِّزَامِ إِنْ أَبْقَ فَأَنَا وَلِيُّ دَمِي وَإِنْ أفْنَ فَالْفَنَاءُ مِيعَادِي الْعَفْوُ لِي قُرْبَةٌ وَلَكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ فَاعْفُوا عَفَا اللهُ عَنَّا وَعَنْكُمْ {أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللهُ لَكُمْ وَاللهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ} ثُمَّ قَالَ
