مَعْبَدُ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ

[Machine] Twelve men from a group called Al-Aqaba were commanded by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to meet with seventy men in the following year. We stayed for a year where each of us would travel to his companion with food, provisions, and information until seventy men met with him from us.  

الطبراني:١٦٣١٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ «لَمَّا قَدِمَ

اثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْعَقَبَةِ وَقَدْ أَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُوَافُوهُ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا الْعَامَ الْمُقْبِلَ أَقَمْنَا سَنَةً يَمْشِي أَحَدُنَا إِلَى صَاحِبِهِ بِالسَّمْعِ وَالرَّحْلِ وَالْمَطْعَمِ حَتَّى وَافَاهُ مِنَّا سَبْعُونَ رَجُلًا»
