[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of His saying, 'The white thread (of dawn) is distinguishable from the black thread (of night).' Are they both threads?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said, "No, rather it is the whiteness of the day and the blackness of the night."  

الطبراني:١٤٣٠٦حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ قَوْلَهُ {الْخَيْطُ الْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الْأَسْوَدِ} أَهُمَا الْخَيْطَانِ؟ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «لَا وَلَكِنَّهُ بَيَاضُ النَّهَارِ وسَوَادُ اللَّيْلِ»
